Walter Vogel - Retrospective

January 23, 2015 - March 14, 2015

Walter Vogel is one of the great german photographers who has captured life and their stories of the last 65 years in impressive picture series. Contrary to the progress in the digital age, the Düsseldorfer remains faithful to his line, photographed exclusively analoge and awakens the scanned scenes in his darkroom to life. He still finds motifs right in front of the door: scenes that show life and reflect moments that invite them to think or smile.

Equally interesting for him are his homeland, the Ruhr area, countries like Italy and France, as well as cities like Bombay and Bangkok. Frankfurt, especially the travesty scene, is one of his favorite topics.

"The Retrospective" pays tribute to his extensive creative time and shows a selection of his important icons and pictures that write contemporary history. Among them are the magical portraits of the famous dancer Pina Bausch as well as portraits of the artist Joseph Beuys.
