Photowalk - Exposure metering like a pro

May 14, 2022 from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm

The Leica Gallery Frankfurt is offering in cooperation with the SilvergrainClassics Academy a photo walk on Saturday, May 14, 2022. The subject: exposure metering - better images with film and digital cameras through correct exposure metering! Almost every modern camera today has an internal exposure meter or offers a histogram. But despite all the automatic and electronics, important shots are always over- or underexposed, and you often don't know why. If you are not shooting in manual mode, it may be due to the camera's incorrect exposure metering. How does light become exposure? The aim of this photo walk is to understand the physical properties of light and to base the exposure measurement on them, regardless of whether there is film or a digital sensor in the camera.

This knowledge should result in an exactly reproducible image result with an effective workflow without time-consuming post-processing. In both analogue and digital photography, the better the quality of the source material, the better the quality of the end product will be.
