The asphalt is not enough- experience the Harley-Davidson-lifestyle which leads to the beach, on the ice and on rocky ground.
This photobook is made for every ’’Easy Rider’’ who sees more in a motorcycle than just a mean of transport.
They are symbols for freedom on two wheels: no other motorcycle brand worldwide has such a reputation, nearly mystical, like Harley-Davidson. The motorcycle producer from Milwaukee is dominating the market for over hundret years. The two-zylindric-motor, which is mainly used for their machines, is embadded like a sculpture deep inside the filigran steel tobular frame. It is not only a question of use but of aesthetic. This book shows the beauty and power of these motors as much as the elegance and performance oft he whole motorcycle.
It truly is a memorial. A homage to Flatheads, Knuckleheads, Panheads, the iron-heads, the Shovels and the Evolutions.
Experience the journey trough a tradition which is deeply rooted in the feeling of freedom and independence in the USA – read reportages and learn to understand the significant ’’Harley-Davidson-Lifestyle’’.
The authors themselves are all passionate bikers since their childhood. Dirk Mangartz works for german and international magazines and already have been the the editor-in-chief for Custombike.
He is the author and co-author for several motorcycle-books and is involved in the developent of motorcycle supplies, also for Halrey-Davidson.
Sven Wedemeyer works inbetween of fotography and journalism- his photographies show stories and personalities and show the culture of mobility.
Philipp Wente, free photographer and redacteur at ramp, started loving bikes in his childhood alredy. The Punky Roller in Racing-Orange turned into Custombikes: Ducati Pantah and H-D Early Dhovel FLH.
