Wenn von Starfotografie die Rede ist, denkt man unweigerlich an die Person vor der Kamera. Dabei ist die dahinter eigentlich von noch viel größerer Bedeutung. Denn sie bereitet die Bühne, setzt das Licht und wählt die Optik. Durch die Arbeit des Fotografen werden aus den Abgelichteten Ikonen oder die Fotos zu Zeugnissen einer Persönlichkeit. Kaum einem gelingt diese Kunst aktuell so einfallsreich wie dem Leica-Fotografen Manfred Baumann. Statt die Stars durch ein immer gleiches Setting zu führen, geht er auf sie zu. Schon lange vor dem Betätigen des Auslösers entwickelt er die Bilder als raffinierte Konzeptionen, die kongenial die Individualität des Gegenübers zum Ausdruck bringen werden. Seine Bilder erzählen Geschichten. Sie lassen sich den Augen, Gesichtszügen und Haltungen ablesen, in denen man sich mit diesem Bildband nur allzu gerne verlieren wird.
MANFRED BAUMANN (*1968) ist gebürtiger Wiener, aber mit seiner Leica auf der ganzen Welt zuhause. International bekannt ist er nicht nur für seine Starporträts, sondern auch für seine Nude Art, Street -und Landschaftsfotografien. Mit seinem besonderen Einsatz für Tierschutz arbeitet er zudem als Ehrenbotschafter Jane Goodalls.

Manfred Baumann (*1968) was born in Vienna but is at home all over the world with his Leica. He is internationally known not only for his star portraits, but also for his nude art, street and landscape photographs.
