Lecture by Oliver Richter "Fascination black and white"

March 8, 2019 from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm

From the beginning of photography black and white was the first opportunity to capture the moment. The most exciting thing today in black and white photography is the concentration on the essentials, especially by omitting the colors.

As in analogue black and white photography, the desire for individual tuning of tonal values is as important today as it was then. The use of color filters in the Leica monochrome as well as the conversion of a black and white color image are shown using image examples. Shown are pictures from Iceland, Spitzbergen, Greenland, USA, Baltic Sea as well as from the alpine areas of Austria and South Tyrol. Exchange in the fascinating world of black and white photography.
